Atrafloor releases Blooming Tiles collection, inspired by global floral motifs
Blooming Tiles offers a fresh take on the faux tile trend, with a floral twist.
Summer might be over, but the trend for globetrotting interiors isn't going anywhere. One of the simplest ways to introduce travel to your decor is with a statement floor. Around the world, tiles are used to explore a country's traditions and symbols. Usually, they contain intricate geometric patterns which are replicated in other parts of the world. Vinyl flooring brand Atrafloor is offering a fresh take on these global motifs, mixing the practicality of vinyl with the aesthetic of patterned tiles.
From Sicilian lemon trees to a Mexican fiesta of colour, Atrafloor's Blooming Tiles collection celebrates the diversity of tiles around the world. Rather than focusing on the geometric patterns usually found in tiles, Atrafloor's designs recognise the often-subtle floral aspects, and enhance them further.
There are three designs in the Blooming Tiles collection, each with a story inspired by a vibrant part of the world. Fes, named after Morocco's Cultural Capital, is influenced by traditional Moroccan blue and white tiles, but has a fresh colour palette of orange and pink. Sicily once again takes the quintessential Italian tile to a new dimension, with lemon plant motifs and a contemporary colour scheme of sage green, yellow and orange. Finally, Puebla celebrates the lively nature of Mexico's tiles, using traditional blue, red, orange and pink as homage to the country's flamboyant hues. The photography for the collection is inspired by the Instagram account, I Have This Thing With Floors, which Atrafloor has previously featured on.
Lauren Kavanagh, designer of the collection, states:
"Blooming Tiles is Atrafloor's celebration of the floral detailing in world tiles that often go unnoticed. Rather than offering a straightforward vinyl replica, the colour palette, combined with the blooming motifs, takes it to a new dimension - reversing cool tones to warm, and incorporating contemporary shades such as sage green."
